Easter weekend flying

Went to Knysna to spend Easter with family. Had a wonderful time AND managed to sneak in some hang gliding on the side ;)

Flew the Map of Africa and Sedgefield. The Map was classic ridge soaring with really bouyant conditions over the sea. I boated around and flew straight lines out over the ocean, often gliding for minutes with zero sink and very low ground speed (well ocean speed really) looking for sea-life.

Sedgefield was really fun thermalling practise. The thermals were small and weak, and one had to be very careful about centering them quickly, or they would blow over the back before you could get enough height to climb above the PGs on the ridge. This was the first time I had flown this site, and it was a real treat. The take off and landing are big, grassy and safe and views are incredible.
